Sean Alvarez is an established engineering leader with a proven track record of driving large-scale transformations and modernizing enterprise platforms. He is currently the Chief Technology Officer of the Life Sciences business at Brillio, where he leads engineering teams and advises clients on digital transformation and platform modernization. With over 15 years of experience in software engineering and consulting, he specializes in applying Platform Engineering principles to drive enterprise-scale change across all major cloud vendors. Previously, he was a Principal Consultant and Head of Business Platforms for North America at Thoughtworks. Sean is the co-author of Effective Platform Engineering and has presented at industry events including Platmosphere 2024 and QCon 2023. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science and an MBA, combining deep technical expertise with strategic insight.
